Job summary

deciBel Research, Inc. is seeking a Jr. System Engineer in Colorado Springs, CO to develop threat model requirements and perform V&V on threat representations across missile domains for the MDA Threat Modeling Center.

You will collaborate with Missile Modeling Engineers and Production Engineers to ensure model accuracy and timely support for Ground Test Modeling and Simulation events, while advancing automation and tool improvements within a dynamic team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in a STEM related field.
• 2+ years with Bachelor's degree; 0+ years with Master's degree.
• Experience with Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), ideally with CAMEO or similar tool experience.
• Familiarity with the systems engineering process, including the Systems Engineering "V".
• Experience with requirements traceability.
• Modeling, simulation, and automation experience.
• Familiarity with flight characteristics, motion, and performance of missile systems.
• Familiarity in the domain of RCS and IR signature modeling practices.
• Familiarity with hard body heating of objects and their corresponding signatures representation.
• Must be self-motivated and able to work in a dynamic team environment.
• Must have a current, active, in-scope DoD Secret Clearance at the time of application, which is required to start; with ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Top Secret clearance with access to SCI

Responsibilities

• Develop threat model requirements and perform verification and validation on threat representations.
• Coordinate with Missile Modeling Engineers and Production Engineers to ensure model requirements are met.
• Support MDA Ground Test Modeling and Simulation events on defined schedule.
• Work with team to coordinate automation and tools improvements for efficiency.
• Gain experience with threat model phenomenology focusing on missile trajectories and signatures.
• Research RCS and IR signature model development requirements.
