Job summary

Dunhill Professional Search & Government Solutions is seeking a System Administrator Junior in Arlington, VA. This hybrid role requires 3 days onsite to support rigid government IT infrastructure, focusing on user accounts and core server operations.

You will perform configuration, patching, monitoring, backups, and troubleshooting, and create simple scripts to automate routine tasks while maintaining documentation and supporting after‑hours activity as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in IT, CS, or related field or equivalent entry-level experience.
• 0-3 years hands-on IT/sysadmin experience with 1-3 years preferred for this environment.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft operating systems and products; basic Linux familiarity.
• Must have a current TS/SCI clearance.
• DoD 8140-compliant certification for IAT-II such as Security+.
• Onsite work 3 days a week in Arlington, VA.

Responsibilities

• Administer user accounts, groups, permissions, and RBAC per policies.
• Install, configure, patch, and monitor Windows and Linux servers.
• Monitor logs, performance, storage, services, and alerts to detect issues.
• Perform backups, restorations, and verify scheduled jobs.
• Troubleshoot server, OS, app, hardware, network, and auth problems.
• Develop scripts to automate account management and health checks.
• Maintain docs: procedures, inventories, and change records.
• Apply hardening standards and least-privilege configurations.
