Job summary

Dunhill Professional Search & Government Solutions in San Antonio, TX, is seeking a Junior System Administrator to support the daily operation and maintenance of enterprise IT systems in a mission-critical environment.

You will perform hands-on administration of Windows servers, user accounts, configurations, and core infrastructure services while building foundational expertise in automation with PowerShell and Bash.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in IT or related field or equivalent experience.
• 0–3 years in IT, with foundational enterprise admin and automation knowledge.
• Strong knowledge of Windows operating systems and products.
• Able to troubleshoot routine hardware/software/network issues with minimal supervision.
• Must meet DoD 8140 requirements and hold an active Secret clearance; U.S. citizenship required.

Responsibilities

• Administer OS, user accounts, permissions and system configurations per security policies.
• Monitor systems, analyze logs, perform health checks for performance and capacity.
• Apply patches and security configurations to maintain compliance.
• Configure and manage backup and recovery solutions.
• Troubleshoot incidents and escalate when needed to ensure timely resolution.
• Use scripting tools to automate routine tasks and improve consistency.
• Support virtualization and cloud environments; manage VMs and cloud resources.
• Maintain accurate system documentation, baselines, runbooks and change records.
• Participate in on-call rotations to support 24/7 availability in a mission-critical environment.
