Job summary

Accenture Federal Services in Crystal City, VA is seeking a Junior Systems Administrator to help manage Windows and Red Hat Linux systems in an AWS environment. This entry-level role offers growth through hands-on experience, mentoring from senior staff, and exposure to security best practices.

You will perform backups, patching, documentation, and incident response while learning RBAC, AD fundamentals, and STIG compliance in a collaborative, onsite team.

Qualifications

• Experience with or exposure to both Linux and AWS administration.
• Ability to assist with backup/restore processes and monthly OS patching.
• CompTIA Security+ CE certified (or ability to obtain within 60 days of starting).
• Familiarity with AWS cloud, Linux (RHEL 7/8/9) and Windows systems administration, Bash or PowerShell scripting, and privilege management.

Responsibilities

• Support O&M activities for RHEL and Windows servers in AWS.
• Assist with server provisioning, backup and recovery, patching and STIG application.
• Help troubleshoot system and network issues and build diagnostic skills.
• Learn and apply RBAC, auditing, ACLs, and Active Directory fundamentals.
• Contribute to secure system configurations for Linux and Windows.
• Aid in monitoring AWS infrastructure and supporting compliance documentation.
• Collaborate with Cloud Infrastructure and Cyber Security teams.
