Job summary

Kiewit Power Engineering in Houston, TX is seeking an entry-level Substation Engineer to join a growing team supporting construction through innovative design and electrical studies.

The role covers substation, transmission, and distribution projects from 12kV to 500kV, including EPC delivery. You will assist with drawings, specifications, and software analyses while collaborating with clients and project teams.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited B.S. in Electrical Engineering.
• GPA 3.0 preferred.
• 0–2 years of engineering-related duties.
• FE exam eligibility or EIT license.
• Legal authorization to work without sponsorship.
• Strong written and verbal English communication.

Responsibilities

• Assist design team with drawings, one- and three-line diagrams, and protection schematics.
• Develop specifications for procurement, installation, and testing of substation equipment.
• Apply engineering software for ground grid design, equipment sizing, relay coordination, and electrical studies.
• Coordinate project activities with project lead and stakeholders.
