Job summary

WSP is seeking an Early Career Substation Assistant Electrical Engineer in Fort Worth, TX to support design and development of utility-scale substations. You’ll contribute to planning, permitting, and construction with guidance from senior engineers.

You will learn to apply IEEE/NERC standards, assist with data collection, and help prepare technical documentation while advancing your career in a growing power practice with WSP’s engineering professionals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering required.
• 0 to 1 year of relevant post-education experience.
• Familiarity with design software and electrical construction practices.

Responsibilities

• Assist with electrical design of substations, including single/three-line diagrams and layouts.
• Develop electrical calculations for loads, sizing, and coordination.
• Prepare documentation and comply with safety guidelines and regulatory standards.
• Support site investigations, testing, and construction procedures under supervision.
• Generate accurate project records and notes for procurement and design reviews.
