Job summary

KPFF Consulting Engineers in Sacramento seeks an Entry-Level Structural Engineer to join our growing team. You will assist in analysis, design, and documentation under supervision, collaborating with experienced engineers on a range of building and infrastructure projects.

The role emphasizes professional growth, mentorship, and exposure to AutoCAD/structural software, with potential for EIT development and future responsibilities across disciplines.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in civil/structural engineering.
  • EIT certification or path to obtain within six months.
  • Proficiency in structural analysis software (AutoCAD/ETABS/SAP2000 or similar).
  • Strong understanding of structural engineering principles and mechanics.
  • Basic knowledge of building codes and construction standards.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Previous internship experience in structural engineering is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in Structural Analysis and Design: contribute to analysis and design of building components under guidance of senior engineers.
  • Prepare Structural Calculations and Documentation: perform calculations and develop project documentation.
  • Support Design Development: help create design solutions for various structural systems.
  • Create and Modify Structural Drawings: use AutoCAD or similar software to develop/update drawings.
  • Participate in Site Visits: conduct site visits to assess structures and monitor progress.
  • Prepare Engineering Reports: assist in detailed structural reports and documentation.
  • Collaborate with Multi-Disciplinary Teams: work with architects, contractors, and stakeholders.
  • Maintain Project Records and Documentation: organize and manage records throughout the project.
  • Support Quality Control: contribute to QC processes to meet standards.
