Job summary

Barry-Wehmiller Design Group in Fort Worth, TX, seeks an Engineer‑in‑Training to join our growing team and progress toward licensure. Qualifications

Bachelor of Science in civil engineering from an ABET‑accredited institution
Engineer‑in‑Training (EIT) certification
Minimum of 1 year as an Engineer‑in‑Training in industrial structural design and engineering, or 2 years of relevant structural engineering co‑op or internship experience
Experience with 3D structural analysis software, including RISA 3D or SAFE, and proficiency using AutoCAD, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Word
Ability to travel for project requirements, including installation and start‑up activities, client and company meetings, trainings, seminars, forums, and conventions

Responsibilities

Work on-site and remotely with architects and civil, mechanical, and electrical engineers to develop technical design solutions
Work under the direction of lead licensed structural engineers while building experience toward structural engineering licensure
Learn to create and assemble complete sets of structural design documents
Develop knowledge of seismic force resisting systems in high seismic design categories
Support gravity and lateral load path calculations and analysis of structural systems used in industrial and commercial facilities
Develop specifications and assist with field condition assessments
Assist in the design of structural systems for new and existing industrial facility applications
Use AutoCAD, Revit, and structural analysis software to support design documentation and project delivery
Monitor state and national code changes and industry standards to support compliant design work
Strengthen client and team relationships through responsive technical support and day‑to‑day project execution
