Job summary

Mackin Engineering & Consulting is seeking an Assistant Structural Engineer to join our Ohio team, collaborating with seasoned engineers on a variety of building and infrastructure projects to develop strong technical and professional skills.

You will support design, analysis, and inspection of structural systems to deliver safe, code-compliant solutions for clients in a collaborative setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering and related field.
• 0–2 years of relevant experience; internship acceptable.
• Familiarity with structural analysis software and CAD drafting tools.
• Working knowledge of building codes and standards.
• Strong analytical and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with design and analysis of structural systems for buildings and infrastructure.
• Perform structural calculations and modeling to verify safety and code compliance.
• Prepare construction drawings, specifications, and technical documentation.
• Coordinate with architects, engineers, and construction professionals.
• Participate in site visits and inspections to monitor progress.
• Support senior engineers during meetings and design reviews.
