Mackin Engineering & Consulting is seeking an Assistant Structural Engineer to join our Ohio team, collaborating with seasoned engineers on a variety of building and infrastructure projects to develop strong technical and professional skills.

You will support design, analysis, and inspection of structural systems to deliver safe, code-compliant solutions for clients in a collaborative setting.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering and related field.
0–2 years of relevant experience; internship acceptable.
Familiarity with structural analysis software and CAD drafting tools.
Working knowledge of building codes and standards.
Strong analytical and communication skills.

Responsibilities

Assist with design and analysis of structural systems for buildings and infrastructure.
Perform structural calculations and modeling to verify safety and code compliance.
Prepare construction drawings, specifications, and technical documentation.
Coordinate with architects, engineers, and construction professionals.
Participate in site visits and inspections to monitor progress.
Support senior engineers during meetings and design reviews.

As an Assistant Structural Engineer, you will support the design, analysis, and inspection of structural systems, helping deliver safe, efficient, and code-compliant solutions for our clients.

What You'll Do:

Assist with the design and analysis of structural systems for buildings and infrastructure projects

Participate in site visits and inspections to monitor construction progress and conformance to design intent
Support senior engineers during project meetings and design reviews
Stay current with applicable building codes, standards, and industry best practices

What We Are Looking For:

Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related field
0-2 years of relevant experience (internship experience considered)
Familiarity with structural analysis software and CAD drafting tools
Working knowledge of applicable building codes and standards
Understanding of common construction materials and structural systems
