Job summary

Barge Design Solutions, Inc. is seeking a Structural Engineering Associate in Knoxville, TN for recent graduates to gain hands-on experience from schematic design through construction administration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from ABET-accredited university.
• EIT Certification required.
• 0–4 years experience.
• Experience using Autodesk Revit is a plus.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret job-related manuals and documents.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
• Excellent interpersonal/communication skills.
• Demonstrates strong attention to detail.
• Previous internship or co-op experience is a plus.
• Ability to work in a fast paced-collaborative team atmosphere with an established group of design professionals.
• Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.

Responsibilities

• Work as a member of a structural design team to design a variety of projects including: Industrial, Commercial, Government, and Water/Wastewater projects.
• Prepare calculations, technical reports, design drawings, and specifications for projects of various sizes.
• Support senior engineers in project planning, coordination, and delivery.
• Collaborate with architects, contractors, and other engineering disciplines.
• Use engineering design software to prepare design documents.
• Accompany Senior Engineers on site visits, field inspections, and construction observation as needed.
• Performs other duties as requested
