Qualifications

• Basic understanding of structural engineering and building design principles.
• Familiarity with gravity and lateral force-resisting systems.
• Basic knowledge of structural materials (steel, concrete, masonry, wood).
• Familiarity with structural design codes and building codes.
• Basic understanding of construction drawings and documentation.
• Ability to develop and interpret plans, sections, and structural models.
• Ability to check own work for accuracy and meet schedules.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Supports design documentation development: plans, models, reports.
• Assists in development of structural designs via sketches and diagrams.
• Uses BIM to develop 3D models of structural systems.
• Prepares and revises drawings during project phases.
• Performs basic structural calculations under supervision.
• Coordinates with architectural and other engineering disciplines.
• Reviews shop drawings and RFIs responses.
• Supports field observations and reports as needed.
• Attends project coordination meetings.
• Assists with cost estimating and value engineering.
