Job summary

North Wind Group in Birmingham, Alabama is seeking an entry-level Structural Design Engineer. The role supports a collaborative team, under supervision of senior engineers, to perform routine design tasks and learn to assemble complete structural drawings.

The candidate should be preparing for or have passed the FE exam and aims to develop skills in Revit and engineering design software within a supportive, values-driven environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering with a structural focus.
• 0-2 years’ experience.
• Required to have passed or preparing to take the FE Exam.

Responsibilities

• Perform structural design calculations and interpret building codes.
• Document project communications and coordinate with BIM models.
• Guide BIM Modelers to convert designs into drawings.
• Assist in evaluations, reports, analyses, and designs for facilities.
• Participate in site visits and review submittals.
• Support project managers and senior designers under supervision.
