Responsibilities

  • Design and draft mechanical and piping plant models per standards and specs.
  • Develop 3D models in an integrated CAD environment.
  • Create general arrangement drawings of piping and plant layouts from the 3D model.
  • Produce 2D detailed drawings (chutes, ducts, equipment) as required.
  • Create piping isometrics from the 3D model as required.
  • Prepare and update project deliverables (PFDs, P&IDs, pipe isometrics).

Hatch is seeking a dynamic Junior Mechanical Designer. Reporting to the Project Delivery Group, you will support offices globally working from our Tampa, FL office location.

Qualifications:

  • Roles at this level are filled by recent or soon to be college graduates with little or no professional experience but possessing relevant skills
  • Preferred associate’s degree in computer aided design (specialization in mechanical and piping systems), mechanical engineering technology degree,or equivalent degree from an accredited institution

As the successful candidate, you will:

  • Perform the design and drafting of mechanical and piping plant models using applicable standards, project technical specifications and enterprise or project procedures
  • Development of 3D models in an integrated CAD environment
  • General Arrangement drawings of piping and plant layoutsfrom the 3D model as required by the project
  • Generate 2D detailed drawings (chutes, ducts equipment and other mechanical components) as required by the project
  • Generate piping isometric drawings from the 3D model as required by the project
  • Preparation of and updates to project deliverables including Process Flow Diagrams (PFD), Piping & Instrumentation Drawings (P&ID) and pipe isometric drawings
  • Provide material quantity take offs for estimating purposes or inclusion into bulk commodity purchases and installation contracts
