Job summary

Dewberry is seeking an Entry Level Structural (Bridge) Engineer to join our Fairfax, VA office. You will design bridges and a variety of civil structures using recognized software, contributing to steel and concrete bridge projects.

The role offers an entry-level development path with mentorship, engagement on real projects, and opportunities to learn bridge inspection and load-rating tasks as part of a collaborative team.

Qualifications

• Masters degree in Civil Engineering with a concentration in Structural Engineering is preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD and/or MicroStation; collaborative team player.
• FE exam completion preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Design bridges and civil structural elements using applicable software.
• Perform bridge load ratings and develop reinforcing bar lists and quantities.
• Review shop drawings and assist with bridge safety inspections.
• Collaborate with project teams to deliver design solutions.
