Job summary

Critical Solutions, LLC is seeking a Jr. Site Reliability Automation and Orchestration Engineer to support a federal customer in Norfolk, VA. The role requires a DoD Secret clearance and is an onsite, full-time position with a salary range of $69,000 to $89,000.

The candidate should bring hands-on automation experience across on-prem and cloud environments, including Ansible, CI/CD tooling, scripting, and ITIL v3. Strong collaboration within a distributed team is expected.

Qualifications

• Must be a U.S. citizen with an active DoD Secret clearance or higher.
• DoD 8570.01-M/8140 IAT Level II certification required.
• ITIL v3 certification required.
• Bachelor's degree and hands-on site engineering automation.
• Ansible knowledge and Windows experience required.
• Experience with CI/CD toolsets (Jenkins, GitLab) and Agile practices.
• Scripting experience with PowerShell or Python.
• Ability to work in classified environments and travel to NMCI locations as needed.

Responsibilities

• Provide continuous development and continuous integration including site reliability engineering, release management, implementation & migration, and training & knowledge transfer.
• Automate routine tasks and software updates; document and maintain tests.
• Develop automated testing approaches for new applications and capabilities.
• Develop Ansible playbooks and roles in non-production environments and migrate to production networks.
• Participate in release management process, procedures, and policies.
• Maintain the Release Management Plan and Schedule.
• Conduct site surveys to validate release package requirements and dependencies.
• Create, update, and maintain work instructions for automation and orchestration processes.
• Provide training when significant technological changes are introduced.
