Job summary

This entry-level role blends traditional robotics with ML: implement Extended Kalman Filters, train PyTorch models, write C++ flight code, and deploy algorithms on space-qualified edge hardware.

Qualifications

  • Pursuing or recently completed degree in a technical field with exposure to computer vision and estimation theory.

Responsibilities

  • Implement Extended Kalman Filters for state estimation and data association.
  • Train neural networks for object detection and classification using PyTorch.
  • Build hybrid perception pipelines: detections → tracking → coordinate transformations → angle measurements.
  • Develop image processing chains (thresholding, centroiding, component analysis).
  • Deploy models to edge hardware (quantization, inference with ONNX/TensorRT).
  • Implement coordinate transformations across pixel, camera, body, and Earth-centered inertial frames.
  • Generate synthetic data via Blender for domain randomization and rare scenarios.
  • Validate end-to-end performance with software-in-the-loop and hardware-in-the-loop tests.
