Job summary

Jobot is seeking a Junior Software Systems Integration Engineer with active DoD Secret clearance for on-site work in Middletown, RI. You will support requirements analysis, design, integration, and test of mission-critical Navy systems, under senior guidance, ensuring government specifications are met and properly documented.

Responsibilities include requirements decomposition, system/interface design, and test procedures, with opportunities to grow in MBSE, lab integration, and accreditation

Qualifications

• Active DoD Secret clearance at time of hire.
• 1–2 years of professional systems engineering experience (internships/co-ops count).
• Experience with requirements management tools (IBM DOORS or Jama).
• Experience producing specifications, interface documents, and test procedures.
• Familiarity with Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE).
• Strong written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

• Support requirements decomposition, tracing and maintenance at system/subsystem level.
• Assist with functional and performance analysis, system design and trade studies.
• Define interfaces between system components and external systems.
• Prepare engineering products: specifications, interface documents, diagrams, test procedures.
• Participate in integration and verification testing in lab environments with traceability to requirements.
• Identify and resolve design and interface issues during development, integration, and test.
• Assist with accreditation and certification documentation during evaluation events.

Job Details

You will support requirements analysis, design, integration, and test of mission-critical Navy systems. Working with guidance from senior engineers, you will help ensure designs meet government specifications and are fully documented, verified, and certified.

What You'll Own

What You Bring

Require

• Active DoD Secret clearance at time of hire
• Bachelor's in Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field
• 1 to 2 years of professional engineering experience (internships and co-ops with substantial systems engineering work considered)
• Understanding of systems engineering concepts and the system development life cycle
• Requirements management tool experience (IBM DOORS, Jama, or similar)
• Technical documentation experience: specifications, interface definitions, drawings, or test procedures
• Familiarity with Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE)
• Strong written and verbal communication

Preferred

• SysML and MBSE tools (Cameo/MagicDraw, IBM Rhapsody, Sparx Enterprise Architect)
• Navy combat or weapon systems experience, including Tomahawk
• Accreditation, certification, or DoD RMF support
• Linux and networking fundamentals
• Python or Bash scripting
• Government or Navy customer experience
• Agile development environment
