Job summary

Space Ground System Solutions (SGSS), a Parsons company, is hiring junior software developers to work onsite at our office in Alexandria, VA, to join mission-focused teams supporting the Naval Research Laboratory (NRL). SGSS builds cloud-enabled and on-prem software solutions for the Department of Defense and Intelligence Community space programs.

We're looking for motivated engineers who enjoys hands-on coding, working in small teams, and delivering capability into production codebases.

Qualifications

• US citizenship and DoD TS/SCI eligibility required.
• BS in CS/SE/CE or related field with 1+ year of experience.
• Proficiency in Python, Go, Java, JavaScript/Node.js, or C/C++.
• Experience Linux, Docker, and Kubernetes.
• Strong debugging, teamwork, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, test, document, and maintain software components for cloud, hybrid-cloud, and on-prem systems.
• Build and maintain containerized services and Kubernetes deployments; author Helm charts and CI/CD pipelines.
• Contribute to SDKs and libraries for internal and external use.
• Develop and maintain APIs, documentation, and examples.
• Participate in code reviews, automated testing, and release processes.
• Troubleshoot, profile, and debug performance-sensitive services.
• Collaborate with engineers, systems integrators, and customers to refine requirements.
