Job summary

Applied Research Associates, Inc. is seeking a Junior Software Developer to join a multi-disciplinary team that builds simulation tool technologies for real-world planning operations and national security.

You will contribute by designing, coding, and testing C++ applications, while collaborating with modelers and scientists in an agile environment. The role requires a BS in CS/CE or related field and up to 2 years of software experience, with familiarity in C++, .NET, and UI/visualization

Qualifications

• B.S. in Computer Engineering or Computer Science, or an equivalent field.
• 0-2 years of software development experience.
• Proficiency in C++ and knowledge of Microsoft .NET using Visual Studio.
• Familiarity with desktop applications, event-driven OO design, 3-D visualization, Web/SQLite databases, Web app development, and UI design.

Responsibilities

• Designing, coding, and debugging applications in C++.
• Software analysis, requirements analysis, and code reviews.
• Object-oriented design and analysis (OOA/OOD).
• Implementing new graphical user interfaces and visualization.
• Software testing and quality assurance.
• Supporting, maintaining, and documenting software functionality.
• Software bug fixes and user support.
