Job summary

Applied Research Associates, Inc. (ARA) Southwest Division is seeking a Staff Software Developer to join a multidisciplinary team developing simulation tool technologies for real-world planning operations for the Department of Defense.

You will design, code, and debug applications using modern C++ and .NET, collaborate with modelers and scientists, and contribute to visualization, UI, and data management efforts in an agile environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field
• 2–5 years of software development experience
• Demonstrated proficiency in C++
• Independent and self-motivated
• Excellent technical, communication, and presentation skills with the ability to work in a team environment
• Eligibility to obtain a DoD security clearance, which includes U.S. citizenship

Responsibilities

• Design, code, and debug applications in C++.
• Perform software analysis, code analysis, requirements analysis, and software review.
• Perform object-oriented design and analysis (OOA and OOD).
• Implement new graphical user interfaces and visualization.
• Software testing and quality assurance.
• Support, maintain, and document software functionality.
• Software support and bug fixes.
