Epitone, Inc. in Carlsbad, California is seeking a Software Engineer I to contribute to the real-time software behind our AR HUD and eye-tracking systems.

You will collaborate with senior engineers to implement, test, and debug C/C++ software in a Linux environment, interfacing hardware, sensors, and rendering pipelines. You will work across CAN-bus integration, Unity-based rendering, and calibration tasks, with up to 20% travel to customer sites.

Qualifications

• Requires Bachelor's degree or expected completion before start date.
• No prior professional software experience required; internships or projects eligible.
• Strong programming skills in C/C++, including OO design, memory management, and debugging.
• Proficient in Linux, shell, and build tools (CMake/Make).
• Familiarity with Git workflows and version control.
• Good English communication, both written and spoken.
• Willingness to travel up to 20%, including international travel, with valid passport/visas.

Responsabilités

• Design, implement, test, and maintain C/C++ software for AR HUD and eye-tracking systems in Ubuntu/Linux.
• Integrate eye-tracking hardware and sensor data with the rendering pipeline.
• Develop and validate CAN-bus communication using DBC files and tooling.
• Support Unity rendering integration with native plugins and real-time data.
• Assist with calibration, data collection, and calibration tool improvements.
• Troubleshoot across software, OS, driver, and hardware layers using logs and debuggers.
• Prepare and support product demos, test benches, and in-vehicle setups.
• Collaborate with OEMs and Tier‑1 partners on technical questions and deliverables.
• Use Git, Jira, and Confluence for tracking and documentation.
