Job summary

Talentify is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to design and develop software for a medical ophthalmic device. You will work on real-time data and image acquisition, interfaces with hardware modules, and keep pace with fast-moving development efforts.

The role requires strong C/C++ skills, multi-threading, and experience with network and serial communications, plus hands-on debugging and architecture knowledge. This is a full-time opportunity in California.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS or software engineering.
• 3+ years in streaming imaging pipeline software architecture.
• Strong C/C++ programming skills.
• Experience with multi-threading and synchronization objects.
• Proficiency with network communication protocols.
• Experience with serial communication technologies.
• Strong debugging and problem-solving in complex environments.
• Analytical skills across hardware/software boundaries.
• Understanding of software architecture, design patterns, and OO principles.
• Experience with Git.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement software modules for a medical ophthalmic device.
• Develop interface libraries for a 10 Gig Ethernet hardware module.
• Implement software modules communicating via RS-232 and other protocols.
• Add hardware logging and debugging features.
• Create workflows for instrument calibration tools.
• Build and maintain device software libraries and modules.
• Analyze, plan, and verify software for a client medical device.
• Ensure code meets requirements and design inputs.
• Translate storyboards and use cases into functional apps.
• Design, build, and maintain reusable, efficient code.
• Coordinate with other developers on interfaces.
• Produce high quality testable code per specs.
• Document software design specs and test plans.
• Identify and prioritize new features with stakeholders.
• Collaborate with product management and engineering on requirements.
• Participate in code peer reviews to ensure quality.
• Contribute to requirements development and risk reviews.
• Troubleshoot and debug throughout development.
• Stay current with emerging tech and best practices.
