Job summary

Acrisure is seeking an entry-level Software Engineer I to join the Enterprise Technology Group in a hands-on role in Grand Rapids (onsite 4 days/week). You will build APIs, workflows and integrations for policy administration, under the guidance of an Engineering Team Lead.

You’ll learn the insurance domain while delivering quality software and supporting production systems. Ideal candidates have 1 year of software experience, strong Python or JavaScript/TypeScript skills, and comfort with

Qualifications

• 1 year of software engineering experience.
• Foundational skills in Python or JavaScript/TypeScript.
• Familiar with APIs, integrations, automated testing and debugging.
• Comfortable using AI-assisted development tools (Claude Code preferred).
• Eagerness to learn insurance domain and apply business context.
• Strong communication, curiosity and accountability.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain APIs, workflows, integrations, and tooling.
• Complete assigned stories and bug fixes with clear acceptance criteria.
• Write modular, maintainable code and seek help when needed.
• Support operational workflows with engineers and stakeholders.
• Assist with integrations between internal/external systems and policy platforms.
• Participate in production support, testing, and documentation.
• Improve internal tooling and developer workflows.
• Use AI-assisted engineering workflows to speed up delivery.
