Acrisure Enterprise Technology Group seeks a Software Engineer II (Underwriting and Policy Administration) to join onsite four days a week across Grand Rapids, MI; Uniondale, NY; Austin, TX; Atlanta, GA. The role focuses on building and maintaining APIs, workflows, integrations, and tooling that support underwriting and policy administration.

You will collaborate with product and underwriting teams, deliver end-to-end features, and leverage AI-assisted development tools.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Strong fundamentals in Python or JavaScript/TypeScript.
• Experience building or maintaining APIs, workflows, integrations, or internal tooling.
• Ability to deliver features and components with moderate independence while managing evolving requirements.
• Proficiency with testing, debugging, automation, monitoring, and production support practices.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, deploy, and support mature, maintainable code for APIs, workflows, integrations, and internal tooling.
• Own end-to-end feature delivery—implementation, testing, and production support, including debugging, automation, monitoring, and incident resolution.
• Collaborate with engineering leads and underwriting or business stakeholders to translate evolving requirements into reliable technical solutions.
• Contribute to integrations between internal systems, external vendors, and policy administration platforms, ensuring reliability, maintainability, and minimal downstream impact.
• Enhance internal engineering tooling, developer workflows, and team practices to increase speed and quality.
• Leverage AI-assisted engineering tools to improve development efficiency, quality, and maintainability.
• Develop practical knowledge of the insurance domain—including quoting, binding, endorsements, rating, forms, and the policy lifecycle—and apply this knowledge to technical decisions.

Job Overview

Position: Software Engineer II (Underwriting and Policy Administration) – Onsite, 4 days per week Locations: Grand Rapids, MI; Uniondale, NY; Austin, TX; Atlanta, GA. This is a full‑time role that does not offer C2C or C2H employment and it is not eligible for visa sponsorship.

The Engineering Team Lead will guide a team of developers focused on building and maintaining the APIs, workflows, integrations, and tooling that support underwriting and policy administration.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, deploy, and support mature, maintainable code for APIs, workflows, integrations, and internal tooling.

Compensation

Base salary range: $100,000 – $150,000, adjusted for skill level, experience, location, and internal equity.
