Job summary

Acrisure Enterprise Technology Group is seeking a Software Engineer I to build and maintain APIs, workflows, integrations, and tooling across underwriting and policy administration. You will collaborate with engineers, delivery leads, business stakeholders, and external vendors.

The role emphasizes learning the insurance domain and applying business context to code, with onsite collaboration and growth opportunities in a dynamic environment.

Qualifications

• 1+ year of software engineering experience.
• Strong foundation in Python or JavaScript/TypeScript.
• Experience with APIs, integrations, automated testing, debugging, and modern development workflows.
• Comfortable using AI-assisted development tools; prior use of Claude Code preferred.
• Strong communication skills, curiosity, accountability, and willingness to ask for help.
• Eagerness to learn the insurance domain and apply business context to technical work.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain APIs, workflows, integrations, and tooling supporting underwriting and policy administration systems.
• Complete assigned stories, tasks, bug fixes, tests, and documentation based on clear requirements and acceptance criteria.
• Write modular, maintainable code and proactively seek help when needed.
• Support operational workflows, debugging, testing, automation, and production support with guidance.
• Assist with integrations between internal systems, external vendors, and policy administration platforms under senior guidance.
• Use AI-assisted engineering tools to improve development speed, code quality, testing, and documentation.
• Learn and apply insurance domain concepts—quoting, binding, endorsements, rating, forms, and policy lifecycle.
• Take ownership of assigned work, follow through on commitments, incorporate feedback, and demonstrate curiosity.
