Job summary

Electric Supply & Equipment seeks a Programmer to design, develop, test, maintain, and support software applications that meet business needs. The role requires strong fundamentals, problem solving, and the ability to translate requirements into reliable solutions.

On-site, Greensboro-based position with potential after-hours deployments. 1+ year experience and a CS/IT/SE degree or equivalent are preferred; candidate should read/modify existing code and work both independently and with teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in CS/IT/SE or equivalent experience.
• 1+ years programming or software development experience.
• Knowledge of at least one modern programming language.
• Experience with relational databases and SQL.
• Understanding of SDLC and development methodologies.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to read, understand, and modify existing source code.
• Strong written and verbal communication; able to work independently or with others.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, debug, and maintain software applications and programs.
• Analyze requirements and translate them into software solutions.
• Write clean, well-documented, and maintainable code.
• Modify and enhance existing applications to meet business needs.
• Troubleshoot issues and resolve programming errors.
• Assist users with software and hardware needs as required.
• Perform application testing including unit and integration tests.
• Collaborate with users and stakeholders to understand requirements.
• Integrate apps with databases, APIs, and third-party systems.
• Maintain technical documentation for applications and interfaces.
• Participate in code reviews and follow development standards.
• Monitor performance and identify improvement opportunities.
• Support production apps and investigate issues timely.
• Participate in upgrades, migrations, and other tech projects.
• Follow security, version control, and change-management procedures.
• Stay current with languages, tools, and industry best practices.
