Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, IT, or related field.
• 0–3 years of experience in cybersecurity or related IT security activities.
• Foundational knowledge of cybersecurity principles, attack methods, indicators of compromise, and safeguards.
• Foundational ability to review security alerts and logs and escalate findings.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, written communication, and organizational skills.
• Must have current Secret clearance.
• Must be a U.S. citizen.
• Hands-on training with SIEM, firewall, IDS/IPS, or endpoint security tools.
• Experience assisting with security assessments or incident documentation in a regulated IT environment.

Responsibilities

• Monitor SIEM queues and alerts from security tools to identify suspicious activity.
• Perform initial alert triage by reviewing severity and supporting evidence.
• Review and correlate logs to identify patterns and establish incident scope and timelines.
• Follow incident response playbooks and document investigation notes.
• Assist senior analysts with security assessments and mitigation verification.
• Maintain incident records with evidence, actions, and disposition.
• Coordinate with IT, operations, compliance, and risk teams to support security requirements.
