Job summary

ASM Research is seeking a junior cybersecurity professional to help monitor, detect, investigate, and respond to security incidents within the DHMS program. You will work with IT, operations, compliance, and risk teams, applying foundational security knowledge and incident response practices.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in CS/IT/Cybersecurity, 0–3 years of IT security experience, and a current Secret clearance. U.S.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Technology or related field.
• 0–3 years in cybersecurity, systems security, or related IT security activities.
• Foundational knowledge of cybersecurity principles, attack methods, indicators of compromise.
• Foundational ability to review security alerts and logs and escalate when needed.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, written communication, and organizational skills.
• Current Secret clearance and U.S. citizenship.

Responsibilities

• Monitor SIEM queues and alerts to identify potentially suspicious activity.
• Perform initial alert triage by reviewing severity, assets, user activity, and evidence.
• Review and correlate logs to identify patterns and establish incident scope and timelines.
• Follow incident response playbooks and elevate suspected or confirmed incidents.
• Assist senior analysts with security assessments and mitigation documentation.
• Maintain accurate incident records with disposition while handling sensitive data.
• Coordinate with IT, operations, compliance, and risk management teams on security requirements.
