Job summary

Kinsley Construction is seeking a Site Junior Estimator to join the Civil team at our North East, MD office. You will evaluate project plans, conduct site visits, analyze data, and prepare detailed cost estimates for labor, materials, and equipment.

Strong analytical skills and attention to detail are essential as you support cost control and competitive bidding. This safety-sensitive role requires accurate estimating, collaboration with the team, and a commitment to project profitability.

Qualifications

• Experience in civil construction estimating preferred.
• Knowledge of estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel.
• Strong analytical and mathematical skills with an attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate in a team environment.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to pass and maintain a DOT physical, including drug and alcohol testing.

Responsibilities

• Review project plans, specifications, and site conditions to develop a comprehensive understanding of project requirements.
• Conduct on-site visits to assess existing conditions, identify potential challenges, and explore opportunities.
• Prepare accurate and detailed cost estimates for labor, materials, equipment, and other project-related expenses.
• Identify cost-saving opportunities and value engineering solutions to enhance project profitability.
• Work closely with team members to ensure cost estimates align with project goals and client expectations.
• Develop competitive bid proposals and actively participate in bid review processes.
• Communicate with vendors and subcontractors to obtain pricing information and build strong industry relationships.
• Monitor project costs throughout the construction process, comparing actual costs to estimates and making necessary adjustments.
• Stay up to date with industry trends, materials, and construction methods to continuously improve estimating accuracy and efficiency.
