Job summary

Kinsley Construction, Inc. is seeking a Site Junior Estimator for our Civil team in the North East, MD office. You will evaluate project plans, conduct site visits, analyze data, and prepare detailed cost estimates.

TYPICAL RESPONSIBILITIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Review project plans, specifications, and site conditions to develop a comprehensive understanding of project requirements.
• Conduct on‑site visits to assess existing conditions, identify potential challenges, and explore opportunities.
• Prepare accurate and detailed cost estimates for labor, materials, equipment, and other project‑related expenses.
• Identify cost‑saving opportunities and value engineering solutions to enhance project profitability.
• Work closely with team members to ensure cost estimates align with project goals and client expectations.
• Develop competitive bid proposals and actively participate in bid review processes.
• Communicate with vendors and subcontractors to obtain pricing information and build strong industry relationships.
• Monitor project costs throughout the construction process, comparing actual costs to estimates and making necessary adjustments.
• Stay up to date with industry trends, materials, and construction methods to continuously improve estimating accuracy and efficiency.

REQUIREMENTS

• Experience in civil construction estimating preferred.
• Knowledge of estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel.
• Strong analytical and mathematical skills with an attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate in a team environment.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to pass and maintain a DOT physical, including drug and alcohol testing.
