Job summary

Kinsley Construction, Inc. is seeking an experienced Estimator for our Highway & Bridge division.

The estimator secures bids, reviews plans and specs, and builds relationships with subcontractors and suppliers to win projects including bridges, highways, dams, and utility infrastructure. The successful candidate will hold an Engineering or Construction Management degree (or equivalent), have strong computer and communication skills, and be proficient with take-off software such as HCSS HeavyBid,

Qualifications

• Engineering or Construction Management degree or equivalent experience.
• Strong computer skills and good written/verbal communication.
• Experience with PENNDOT, MDSHA, WVDOT, DELDOT, or VDOT projects.
• Experience with take-off software (HCSS HeavyBid, Bluebeam, AGTEK) and Microsoft Office.
• Dam project experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Navigate construction drawings and specifications.
• Develop scope of work and prepare bid tabulation sheets.
• Prepare accurate take-offs.
• Perform site visits and attend Prebid meetings.
• Prepare detailed estimates and proposals.
• Professionally communicate with owners, engineers and vendors.
• Obtain competitive pricing from material suppliers and subcontractors; gather interest from subcontractors and suppliers on projects by phone (primary) and email communication.
• Perform other related duties as required.

SUMMARY OF POSITION

We are seeking an experienced Estimator for our Highway & Bridge division. The Estimator is responsible for securing bids, reviewing plans and specifications, and building professional relationships with subcontractors and suppliers. These projects can include bridges, highways, dams and utility infrastructure. The Estimator prepares estimates for part or all the project and must work as part of a team.

The successful candidate should possess an Engineering or Construction Management degree or background along with applicable field experience, strong computer skills, and good communication skills.

Please note that this position is considered safety sensitive in accordance with Kinsley Construction policies and procedures.
