Job summary

KBR Mission Technology Solutions seeks a Jr. Signal Processing Engineer in El Segundo, CA. You will collaborate with multiple stakeholders to design, develop and validate interfaces, ensuring that all subsystems are integrated into a viable system and aligned with mission requirements.

You will build MATLAB-based models, analyze metrics such as SNR and optics performance, organize results into databases and slides, and present findings to engineers and customers to inform critical decisions.

Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI clearance and ability to obtain CI Polygraph.
• Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field; 0–3 years experience.
• Experience with MATLAB signal processing capabilities.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work in fast-paced environments.
• Self-starter who can collaborate with multiple teammates.

Responsibilities

• Develop and apply software tools in MATLAB to calculate metrics like SNR and optical blur.
• Organize results in databases and slides for stakeholder presentations.
• Understand MATLAB models of optical/electro‑optical components including focal planes and atmospherics.
• Set up MATLAB-based models and validate results with error checking.
• Support senior engineers and act as a customer interface when needed.
• Carry out assignments using standard engineering processes across subsystems.
• Plan and coordinate engineering functions for design, testing and integration of systems.
• Conduct studies for system improvements and reconfigurations.
• Prepare technical reports and proposals; liaise across teams.
