Job summary

KBR seeks a Jr Signal Processing Engineer in Chantilly, VA to join the Mission Technology Solutions team. You will collaborate across stakeholders to design, develop, and research interfaces, ensuring subsystems integrate into a viable system and supporting mission-critical decisions.

The role emphasizes MATLAB-based modeling of electro-optical components, data organization, and communication with senior engineers and customers.

Qualifications

Active TS/SCI clearance or ability to obtain a CI Polygraph.
Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
0–3 years of relevant experience (internships/co-ops applicable).
Experience with MATLAB signal processing capabilities.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Self-starter who can partner with multiple teammates.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

Develop and apply software tools in MATLAB to calculate metrics (SNR, optical blur, etc.).
Organize results in databases, software packages and slides and present findings to stakeholders.
Learn and develop MATLAB models of electro-optical system components (focal planes, optics, atmospherics).
Set up and execution of MATLAB-based models and verify results.
Act as customer advisor to inform mission-critical decisions.
Coordinate engineering functions in design, installation, testing and integration of systems.
