Job description

Position Summary:

*This is NOT an IT Tech role*

The Junior Service Technician is responsible for in-house project and non-project equipment testing, managing customer food products for testing, and coordinating with project and assembly teams. This role requires hands-on work with food products and equipment, ensuring that machines operate according to customer specifications while maintaining a clean and organized testing environment.

Work You’ll Do:
  • Conduct in-house testing of project and non-project equipment, ensuring compliance with customer specifications.
  • Manage customer food products required for testing and coordinate schedules with the Project and Assembly Teams.
  • Perform hands-on testing of machines, standing for extended periods as necessary.
  • Identify and resolve issues during equipment testing, providing detailed reports on findings.
  • Clean and reorganize equipment and the testing area to maintain a safe and efficient workspace.
  • Work independently on assignments with minimal supervision and carry out other duties as assigned.
  • Team: You will be part of a collaborative team that includes project managers, assembly teams, and other technicians, working together to ensure the successful testing and operation of equipment.

Basic Qualifications:
  • Education focused on Mechanical, Pneumatic, and Electrical systems, with some education and/or experience in Electronics or Trade Qualifications in these areas.
  • A minimum of 1 to 2 years of experience in a related field.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make recommendations for continuous improvement.
  • Ability to collaborate and interact professionally with individuals from diverse backgrounds and cultures.
  • Proficient in MS Office, particularly Word, Excel, Outlook, and MS Teams.
  • Valid driver’s license and passport for site travel and international assignments.
  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs, stand for long periods time, and able to work with various food products

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Priority consideration will be given to candidates with experience in the food or bakery production industry.
  • Bilingual proficiency in English/French or English/Spanish is an asset.
  • Experience with troubleshooting PLC control systems, HMI, and industrial networks (e.g., Allen Bradley, Unitronics).
  • Familiarity with VFD and Servo control components, including their function and configuration.
