Position Summary:
*This is NOT an IT Tech role*
The Junior Service Technician is responsible for in-house project and non-project equipment testing, managing customer food products for testing, and coordinating with project and assembly teams. This role requires hands-on work with food products and equipment, ensuring that machines operate according to customer specifications while maintaining a clean and organized testing environment.
Work You’ll Do:
- Conduct in-house testing of project and non-project equipment, ensuring compliance with customer specifications.
- Manage customer food products required for testing and coordinate schedules with the Project and Assembly Teams.
- Perform hands-on testing of machines, standing for extended periods as necessary.
- Identify and resolve issues during equipment testing, providing detailed reports on findings.
- Clean and reorganize equipment and the testing area to maintain a safe and efficient workspace.
- Work independently on assignments with minimal supervision and carry out other duties as assigned.
- Team: You will be part of a collaborative team that includes project managers, assembly teams, and other technicians, working together to ensure the successful testing and operation of equipment.
Basic Qualifications:
- Education focused on Mechanical, Pneumatic, and Electrical systems, with some education and/or experience in Electronics or Trade Qualifications in these areas.
- A minimum of 1 to 2 years of experience in a related field.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make recommendations for continuous improvement.
- Ability to collaborate and interact professionally with individuals from diverse backgrounds and cultures.
- Proficient in MS Office, particularly Word, Excel, Outlook, and MS Teams.
- Valid driver’s license and passport for site travel and international assignments.
- Ability to lift up to 50lbs, stand for long periods time, and able to work with various food products
Preferred Qualifications:
- Priority consideration will be given to candidates with experience in the food or bakery production industry.
- Bilingual proficiency in English/French or English/Spanish is an asset.
- Experience with troubleshooting PLC control systems, HMI, and industrial networks (e.g., Allen Bradley, Unitronics).
- Familiarity with VFD and Servo control components, including their function and configuration.
