Job summary

Puyenpa seeks a Junior Server Administrator to support a government facility in Washington DC. This full-time on-site role may allow situational telework with coordination from the Program Manager and COR. A Public Trust background investigation is required.

Responsibilities include maintaining servers, applying patches, and coordinating with development and MDM teams to sustain operations and platform functionality.

Qualifications

• 1 year IT Server Administration experience.
• Proficiency with Azure cloud, Linux (Red Hat/CentOS), Windows Server, and VMware.
• Experience with network security and mobile device management.
• Familiarity with mobile apps (iOS/Android) and radio networks.
• Experience with geospatial/mapping caching servers.

Responsibilities

• Maintain server installation and OS updates; manage platform server modifications and patches.
• Identify and support third-party applications to support the platform.
• Provide technical support for applications, devices and platforms.
• Coordinate with Application Development teams for platform updates.
• Coordinate with MDM teams for platform and end-user devices.
• Support enterprise workstation maintenance and policy development.

Job description

The Puyenpa family of companies that are comprised of multiple SBA Certified Native American Tribal 8(a) and multi-certified organizations focused on delivering Information Technology, Management Consulting, and General Construction solutions to the Federal Government along with the Commercial Sector.

We are actively seeking a Junior Server Administrator. This position will be staffed as full-time equivalent (FTE). Work will be completed on-site at a government facility in Washington DC. Situational telework may be authorized, coordination with the Program Manager and COR required. A Public Trust background investigation is required for this position.

This is an exciting opportunity to be part of the Puyenpa team supporting the Team Awareness Kit Interagency program. The main responsibilities of the role include:

• Maintain Server installation and operating system updates; Track, manage and sustain Platform Server modifications, updates, modifications, patches; Provide Server and/or Platform support for customers.
• Identify, propose, manage, install, configure, sustain and support third party (integrated) application required to support the platform. Tactical Awareness Kit Interagency Operability USSS - Standard Sensitive Info.
• Manage and maintain all patches to ensure Security Compliance Provide technical support for application, appliance, device support and/or troubleshooting of the platform, third party applications associated to the platform and end user devices/appliances.
• Coordinate with, and support Application Development teams working within the USSS for updates required for platform functionality.
• Coordinate with and support Mobile Device Management teams withing within the USSS needed for platform, application and/or end user appliances.
• Support installations, diagnosis, updates and sustainment of enterprise workstations. * Support the development of system administration policy, requirements and daily maintenance procedures and support activities.
• Support the creation of maintenance plans, operational procedures, how to guidance, program documentation used by support technicians, users, help desk etc.
• Support the integrate platform servers in small team and mission planning systems upon request by agency program managers.
• Provide recommendations and support efforts to coordinate capability enhancements developed by the Department of Defense to receive operational approvals, certifications, and internal agency approvals needed for implementation.
• Document newly identified mission cap based on emerging technology improvements/enhances and submit to agency program managers for review and potential integration to the current platform.

• Expertise Level: Junior
• Experience: 1 year IT Server Administration experience.
• Experience Needed: Azure Cloud computing, Linux Environments (Red Hat / CentOS), Windows Environments, VMware Environments, Network Security, Mobile Applications (iOS / Android), Mobile Device Management, Integrated and tactical Radio Networks, Geospatial / Mapping caching servers.
