Job summary

Samsung Austin Semiconductor is seeking a highly skilled engineer to monitor wafer fabrication equipment, qualify new tools, and coordinate equipment qualifications. You will analyze data to identify trends, adjust parameters, and implement in-line process changes in a 24x7 fab environment.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Material Science, or Computer Science (new grads need 3.0 GPA or better)
• Experience scripting in Python, VBA, or equivalent language
• Understanding of statistical methods
• Change Point Management experience and Lean/TPS/5S knowledge
• Strong structured problem solving (8D, 7-step, etc.)
• Experience with Software Data Analysis tools (Spotfire, JMP, Matlab)
• Troubleshooting Equipment or Process failures
• Ability to wear clean room PPE and lift <35 lbs in FAB environment
• Ability to discern audible alarms and work in 24x7 operations

Responsibilities

• Monitors wafer fabrication equipment and responds to issues
• Qualifies new manufacturing equipment
• Coordinates scheduling of equipment qualifications and downtime
• Uses software to analyze data and identify trends for processing decisions
• Makes adjustments when parameters are exceeded and monitors parameters after maintenance
• Implements in-line changes (CPM) to processes or equipment
• Communicates technical information within the department via presentations
• Revises SOPs and develops improved processes to increase capability
• Monitors operations costs and develops cost-reduction projects
