Job summary

TJ Consulting Group is seeking a Junior Security Control Assessor to support RMF cybersecurity at Peterson Space Force Base in Colorado. The role focuses on developing, implementing, managing, and maintaining RMF programs and performing assessments.

US citizenship and an active Top Secret/SCI clearance are required. The position offers a day shift, full-time schedule, and comprehensive benefits including PTO and health coverage.

Qualifications

• 1-3 years of RMF security controls experience required.
• Strong analytical and communication skills essential.
• SCA experience with a DoD agency highly desired.
• Space Force/USAF Space Command system experience highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Analyze RMF packages and provide recommendations to support assessment and accreditation of cyber capabilities.
• Develop and deliver Cyber Risk Assessment reports.
• Review CISPs submissions and advise on submission quality.
• Review Commercial Satellite Communication requests and advise on submission quality.
• Schedule and attend meetings to support cybersecurity assessments and processes.
• Review E/APL to ensure tools are certified for Space/DoD information systems and provide recommendations.
• Analyze results of system scans and STIGs to manage vulnerabilities.

Junior Security Control Assessor

Overview Of Position

Seeking a Junior Security Control Assessor to support an effort to develop, implement, manage, and maintain a Risk Management Framework Cybersecurity Program at Peterson Space Force Base, Colorado. The effort provides cybersecurity services, conducts cybersecurity technical assessments, and participates in cybersecurity technical investigations.

A United States Citizenship and an active Top Secret/SCI DoD Security Clearance is required to be considered for this position.

Primary Responsibilities

• Analyze, assess, validate, and provide recommendations on cybersecurity RMF packages to support the assessment and accreditation of emerging cybersecurity capabilities and methodologies.
• Assist in developing and delivering Cyber Risk Assessment reports.
• Review requests for use of Commercial Internet Service Providers (CISPs) and assist, and provide recommendations to the government on the quality of the submission.
• Review requests for use of Commercial Satellite Communication and assist, and provide recommendations to the government on the quality of the submission.
• Schedule and attend meetings and conferences as required to support cybersecurity assessments and processes.
• Review the Evaluated/Approved Products List (E/APL) to ensure tools requested for use within the Space Authorization Boundary are certified for Space and DoD/US intelligence information systems and applications and provide recommendations to the government.
• Provide assistance in analyzing the results of system scans and Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) to support the government’s management of vulnerabilities and ensure policy compliance.

Qualifications

Experience

• Minimum of 1- 3 years of experience implementing, monitoring, and assessing Risk Management Framework security controls.
• Strong analytical skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience as a Security Control Assessor on behalf of a Department of Defense agency is highly desired.
• Experience with US Space Force or USAF Space Command systems is highly desirable.

Education

• An AS degree in an IT-related field is required.
• An advanced degree is highly desired

Certifications

• Security+ CE or equivalent is required.
• Other cybersecurity certifications, including CISSP, Certified Ethical Hacker, Certified Authorization Professional, Systems Security Certified Practitioner, etc. are highly desired.

Clearance

• Active Top-Secret SCI Security Clearance is required.
• Must be a US Citizen and pass a background check.
• Maintain applicable security clearance(s) at the level required by the client and/or applicable certification(s) as requested
