Job summary

RTX is hiring a Junior SAP Basis Administrator to join the Enterprise Services team in Santa Isabel, Puerto Rico. The role supports daily SAP Basis operations, monitoring, transport handling, and routine tasks under guidance from senior team members.

You will gain hands-on exposure to enterprise SAP administration, performance monitoring, and operational support across ECC and S/4HANA landscapes, with work instructions in English.

Qualifications

• Typically requires a University Degree or equivalent experience and a minimum of 2 years of prior relevant experience.
• Experience working with SAP Basis concepts, including system architecture, client administration, and transport management.
• Experience working with of SAP system landscape concepts, including client copies and transport routes.

Responsibilities

• Support day‑to‑day monitoring of SAP Basis environments (ECC, S/4HANA, and associated SAP NetWeaver systems).
• Assist with routine SAP system tasks, including client administration, job scheduling, and health system checks.
• Support transport administration by helping process and track change requests through development, quality, and production environments.
• Assist with monitoring system performance and capacity, flagging potential issues to senior Basis administrators for further analysis.
• Support backup and system recovery activities, helping validate that routine backup jobs complete successfully.
• Respond to routine SAP Basis tickets and service requests, escalating complex issues to senior team members.
• Help maintain accurate documentation of system configurations, procedures, and standard work instructions.
• Assist with testing during patching, upgrades, and migrations under senior staff guidance.
• Support audit and compliance activities by gathering system logs and reports for internal control testing.
• Collaborate with the broader ATS team to support a stable SAP environment.

The following position is to join our RTX Enterprise Services team in Santa Isabel, Puerto Rico:

This position supports the day-to-day administration and stability of RTX's SAP Basis environment. The Junior SAP Basis Administrator assists with system monitoring, transport administration, and routine technical operations, working under the guidance of senior team members while building the foundational skills needed to grow within SAP Basis. This role sits within the Application Technical Services (ATS) organization and provides hands‑on exposure to enterprise SAP system administration, performance monitoring, and operational support for a large, complex SAP landscape.

What You Will Do

• Support day‑to‑day monitoring of SAP Basis environments (ECC, S/4HANA, and associated SAP NetWeaver systems), helping ensure consistent system availability across production and non-production landscapes.
• Assist with routine SAP system tasks, including client administration, job scheduling, and health system checks, following established procedures.
• Support transport administration by helping process and track change requests as they move through development, quality, and production environments.
• Assist with monitoring system performance and capacity, flagging potential issues to senior Basis administrators for further analysis.
• Support backup and system recovery activities, helping validate that routine backup jobs complete successfully.
• Respond to routine SAP Basis tickets and service requests, escalating complex or ambiguous issues to senior team members.
• Help maintain accurate documentation of system configurations, procedures, and standard work instructions.
• Assist with testing during patching, upgrades, and technical migrations under the direction of senior Basis staff.
• Support audit and compliance activities by helping gather system logs, configuration evidence, and reports for internal control testing.
• Collaborate with the broader ATS team, including application security and platform services, to support a stable and well‑governed SAP environment.
• This position will reference written work instructions for guidance with daily job activities. Work instructions are available in English only.

Qualifications You Must Have

• Typically requires a University Degree or equivalent experience and a minimum of 2 years of prior relevant experience.
• Experience working with SAP Basis concepts, including system architecture, client administration, and transport management.
• Experience working with of SAP system landscape concepts, including client copies and transport routes.

Qualifications We Prefer

• Demonstrated ability to work autonomously with limited supervision on moderately complex tasks and assignments.
• Ability to explain policies, practices, and procedures clearly to others within the work area.
• Practical knowledge of RTX projects, programs, or systems, with the ability to apply and leverage that knowledge in daily work.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow documented procedures and change control processes accurately.
• Exposure to SAP Solution Manager or similar system monitoring tools.
• Familiarity with SAP ECC or S/4HANA technical architecture.
• Experience working within a nearshore, offshore, or multi‑site global delivery model.
• Ability to use modern collaboration, ticketing, and service management tools (ServiceNow, Jira, etc.).
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work effectively within a team environment.
• Eagerness to learn and grow technical expertise in SAP Basis administration and enterprise system operations.
