What You Will Do
- Administer, monitor, and maintain SAP Basis environments (ECC, S/4HANA, and associated SAP NetWeaver systems), ensuring consistent system availability and performance across production and non-production landscapes.
- Perform SAP system installations, upgrades, patching, and technical migrations, coordinating change windows to minimize business disruption.
- Manage transport administration across the SAP landscape, ensuring changes move through development, quality, and production environments in a controlled and auditable manner.
- Own system performance tuning and capacity planning, proactively identifying and resolving bottlenecks before they impact end users.
- Administer SAP client environments, including client copies, client refreshes, and system landscape configuration.
- Execute and validate backup and disaster recovery procedures, ensuring RTX's SAP environment meets business continuity and resiliency requirements.
- Monitor system health using SAP Solution Manager and related tooling, responding to alerts and resolving incidents within established SLAs.
- Partner with cross-functional teams, application security, enterprise integration, and platform services, to support secure-by-design principles and DevSecOps practices within the SAP environment.
- Document technical procedures, runbooks, and configuration standards to support operational consistency and knowledge continuity across the team.
- Coach and review the work of lower-level Basis professionals, providing technical guidance on complex system issues.

Qualifications You Must Have
- Typically requires a University Degree or equivalent experience and a minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and a minimum of 3 years of experience.
- Experience with administering SAP Basis environments, including system installation, upgrades, patching, and transport management.
- Experience working with SAP system architecture, including database administration fundamentals, application server configuration, and system landscape design.
- Experience troubleshooting and resolving complex, sometimes ambiguous technical issues that require drawing on prior experience and analysis across multiple systems or work areas.
- Experience coaching or reviewing the work of peer technical professionals.
- Experience with enterprise SAP systems, with the ability to identify and implement moderate improvements to processes, configurations, or performance within the SAP environment.
Qualifications We Prefer
- We Prefer Demonstrated ability to work autonomously with limited oversight, exercising sound technical judgment on system changes and issue resolution.
- Experience with SAP S/4HANA Basis administration and migration projects.
- Familiarity with SAP Solution Manager, database administration (HANA, Oracle, or equivalent), and system monitoring tools.
- Experience working within a near-shore, offshore, or multi-site global delivery model, collaborating across on-shore and near-shore teams.
- Working knowledge of SAP security and authorization concepts, including coordination with GRC or identity governance teams.
- Experience supporting SAP systems within a large, complex, regulated enterprise environment.
- Familiarity with ITSM tools (ServiceNow, Jira) and change/incident management processes.
- Exposure to automation, scripting, or Infrastructure as Code practices applied to SAP system administration.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence peers and cross-functional stakeholders on Basis-related policies, practices, and procedures.
