Job summary

Yondu in the Los Angeles area is seeking an early-career robotics software engineer to build software for real robots in customer warehouses. You’ll work across the stack, mentor-mentee style, and own features from prototype to deployment on real hardware.

You’ll contribute to ROS2 in C++/Python, enable safe autonomous navigation, and integrate with WMS systems while deploying Dockerized software on NVIDIA Jetson platforms.

Qualifications

• 0-2 years of software development in robotics or hardware domains.
• BS in CS/Robotics/Engineering or equivalent hands-on experience.
• Proficiency in C++ and Python.
• Comfort with Linux/Ubuntu CLI and Git in a team setting.
• Interest in hardware-software integration (sensors, motors, embedded compute).
• Hands-on ROS2 experience or similar pub/sub middleware.
• Exposure to real robot hardware deployments or WMS/logistics systems.

Responsibilities

• Develop features across the ROS2 stack in C++ and Python for navigation, mapping, localization, and perception.
• Tune and debug autonomous navigation and obstacle avoidance in warehouses.
• Build teleoperation tooling for monitoring, assisting, and recovering robots remotely.
• Integrate robots with warehouse management systems to ensure task flow.
• Containerize and deploy software with Docker; assist on-site deployments.
• Own features end-to-end from prototype to field-ready with field feedback.
