Job summary

KBR is seeking a Junior Software Engineer to join our Beavercreek, OH office. The role focuses on developing, integrating, and evaluating software for RF systems across DoD programs, with opportunities to mentor and grow under senior engineers.

The position requires a strong software foundation, interest in RF system fundamentals, and collaboration across system and hardware teams to implement PNT capabilities in lab and field environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related technical discipline.
• 0–2 years of professional software development experience (internships/co-ops/academic projects count).
• Programming experience in C#/C++ or Python.
• Experience developing software on Linux and Windows.
• Familiarity with PNT concepts (GNSS, inertial, timing, sensor fusion).
• Experience integrating software with complex systems or external hardware.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, test, and document software for systems, simulations, and performance analysis environments.
• Implement algorithms and models under guidance, including measurement modeling and estimator behavior.
• Integrate software within software frameworks and with HITL/SITL and digital twin environments.
• Develop interfaces between software components and external systems.
• Support test planning, execution, and analysis for PNT-focused experiments and demonstrations.
• Collaborate with systems engineers to align requirements with software designs.
