Job summary

TransMarket Group in Chicago is seeking a Junior Algorithmic Trader. You will work with Senior Traders to learn automated trading, market microstructure, and quantitative modeling using C++ and Python in a fast-paced environment.

The role emphasizes building and supporting production trading software, analyzing tick data, and developing prediction models while expanding your knowledge of math, statistics, and finance. This position requires onsite presence at our Chicago office.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a technical degree with a graduation window (Dec 2026–Spring 2027) or relevant industry experience.
• Strong coursework in data structures, probability, statistics, and linear algebra.
• Experience with object-oriented languages (C++, Python, Java) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist Senior Algorithmic Traders across automated trading initiatives.
• Develop expertise in market microstructure, tick data, and trading systems.
• Learn and master C++, Python, and possibly Java in a production environment.
• Build and maintain quantitative model tools and analytics for trading strategies.
• Contribute to production quality trading software and strategy development.
• Support post-trade analyses and model improvements.
