Job summary

TransMarket Group in Chicago seeks a Junior Algorithmic Trader to learn and contribute to automated trading strategies. You will work with Senior Traders on relative value arbitrage, analyze high-frequency tick data, and build mathematical models using Python and C++.

This role requires dedication to markets, coding skills, and a collaborative, fast-paced mindset. You will be onsite at our Chicago office and participate in development of production trading software, with opportunities to advance

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Doctorate in a technical field with a 2026–2027 graduation date or 1–2 years industry experience
• Minimum major GPA of 3.5/4 or equivalent
• Proficiency and experience in C++, Python; Java preferred
• Proficiency in Linux scripting is a plus

Responsibilities

• Work with Senior Algorithmic Traders to assist and learn all facets of automated trading
• Develop expertise in market microstructure, tick data, and automated trading systems
• Learn and master object-oriented programming languages (C++ and Python)
• Build and maintain trading quantitative model tools and analytics
• Develop, code, maintain and support production quality automated trading softwares and strategies
• Improve strategies and trade execution by performing post trade analyses and developing prediction models
