Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering, pulp and paper science, or a related field.
• Process familiarity and ability to troubleshoot, analyze, and lead change with speed.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, written and verbal, with active listening.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel).
• High initiative, self-motivation, and dependability.

Responsibilities

• Be a role model for safety by promoting a safe work environment and safety initiatives.
• Support high quality product standards and reduce product/process variability.
• Provide technical assistance to production areas.
• Focus on cost optimization by initiating and implementing continuous improvement initiatives.
• Interface with outside technical resources and suppliers to initiate cost reduction and process improvement trials.
• Build relationships with hourly workforce and provide technical training on process improvements.
• Develop leadership and take on increasing supervisor responsibilities.
