JRC’s Missiles and Space Team seeks a Junior Public Affairs Officer to support the Department of the Navy’s SSP. You’ll craft communications materials, coordinate with SSP HQ, and help convey the organization’s mission under DoD policies.

You will collaborate with government leadership and public affairs professionals, ensuring timely, accurate messaging while managing multiple priorities and maintaining OPSEC standards.

Formación

• Clearance: Active DoD Secret clearance required at start
• Strong writing, editing, proofreading, and verbal communication skills
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and collaborate with government customers and leadership
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
• Sound judgment and discretion when handling sensitive information
• Experience supporting public affairs or communications in a federal context (bonus)

Responsabilidades

• Draft, edit, and review articles, news releases, talking points, presentations, and other communication materials
• Support SSP Headquarters with daily public affairs activities and communication requirements
• Conduct research and monitor media coverage to support leadership and public affairs initiatives
• Assist with media inquiries, information requests, and stakeholder coordination
• Support leadership engagements, public affairs events, and internal and external communications
• Ensure communication products are accurate and follow review, OPSEC and information-release procedures
• Maintain public affairs records, track assignments, and meet deadlines
