Job summary

LONG Building Technologies, Inc. is seeking a Junior Project Manager to support project coordination, scheduling, documentation, procurement, and cost management for building automation and temperature control projects.

You will work closely with Project Managers to ensure efficient and accurate project execution while expanding technical expertise and leadership capabilities. The role offers a competitive pay range and comprehensive benefits, with opportunities for profit sharing and career

Qualifications

  • 2-year technical degree with Construction Management or related coursework and 1–3 years in project coordination or HVAC/building automation.
  • Knowledge of heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems, building automation, and electrical systems.
  • Strong organizational skills to track multiple priorities, documents, schedules, and follow-ups.

Junior Project Manager
Description
Position Purpose

As a LONG Assistant Project Manager, you will play a key role in supporting the successful execution of Building Automation and Temperature Controls projects. Working closely with Project Managers, you will assist with project coordination, scheduling, documentation, procurement, cost management, and customer communications to help ensure projects are delivered efficiently and accurately. This position provides an opportunity to build technical expertise, business acumen, and leadership capabilities while contributing to the overall success of project operations.

Pay Range

$80,000 - $105,000 plus potential profit share.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist Project Managers with assigned projects according to proposal, drawings, specifications, cost estimates, customer expectations, andtime frameswhile following LONG project management procedures.
  • Help maintainaccurateproject documentation, including project scope, plans, specifications, submittal logs, RFI logs, change order logs, meeting minutes, action items, closeout documents, and other project-related records.
  • Support the creation, maintenance, and communication of project schedules using MS Project software or other approved platforms. Coordinate schedule updates with project management, engineering, construction, and operations resources as directed.
  • Assistwith coordinating personnel, equipment, subcontracting, materials, and project deliverables to support schedule requirements and help projects remain within estimated costs.
  • Coordinate with engineering to support the preparation and tracking of submittals, installation drawings, material selections, and equipment ordering needs.
  • Support equipment and material procurement by tracking approved submittals, coordinating order timing,monitoringdelivery needs, and communicating potential delays or conflictstotheappropriate projectleader.
  • Review and update job reports using company reporting tools and notify the Project Manager of project cost, schedule, documentation, or resource concerns.
  • Assist with monitoring project costs, committed costs, pending costs, and billing support documentation.Escalate cost variances, incomplete information, or potential overruns to theappropriate manager/supervisor(s).
  • Helpidentifychanges to scope of work, scheduling, site conditions, or other jobsite factors that may affect LONG productivity and profitability.Assistwith assembling supporting documentation forchangeorder requests and proposals.
  • Participate in project meetings, work-in-progress meetings, coordination meetings, and customer or contractor meetings as requested. Prepare and distribute meeting notes, status updates, and assigned follow-up items.
  • Communicate professionally with internal teams, vendors, subcontractors, mechanical contractors, customers, and other project stakeholders to supporttimelyandaccurateproject execution.
  • Visit job sites as needed toobserveprogress, verify documentation, support coordination, and escalation issues that may affect schedule, cost, quality, or customer expectations.
  • Assistwith project closeout activities, including O&M documentation, as-built information, warranty documentation, customer training coordination, punch list tracking, and final project records.
  • Support the training of owner operating personnel by coordinating documentation, schedules, participants, and follow-up items as directed.
  • Develop project management knowledge through mentoring, active participation in project execution, creative problem solving, and continuous improvement of project coordination practices.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • 2-year technical degree, Construction Management coursework, Business/Administration coursework, or equivalent experience; and 1-3 years of project coordination, construction administration, commercial HVAC, building automation, temperature controls, or related experience.
  • Basic knowledge of heating, ventilating, and air conditioning systems, control systems, building automation, electrical systems, energy management, engineering, installation, management, and construction procedures.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to track multiple priorities, documents, schedules, and follow-up items accurately.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with customers, vendors, subcontractors, mechanical contractors, field personnel, engineers, sales teams, and internal operations teams.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, submittals, project schedules, and project documentation.
  • Ability to use Microsoft Office applications and learn company-approved project management, estimating, scheduling, reporting, and documentation tools.
  • Ability to travel to and inspect job sites and visit customer locations.
  • Availability for occasional after-hour consultation and problem-solving onassigned jobs, as necessary.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
