McCarthy Building Companies, Inc. is seeking an entry-level Project Engineer to establish the fundamentals of growth within the company. The role offers hands-on experience in project controls, communication, and exposure to technical aspects of construction.

This position serves as the first step toward developing managerial and communication skills for project management. Based in the Southern region, the role may require relocation to support out-of-state projects for a period.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or Engineering is required.
• General knowledge of construction principles and practices is required.
• Strong work ethic and ability to work well in a team environment are required.
• Must be geographically mobile and relocate within the region.

Responsibilities

• General Contract and Subcontract administration
• Monitor and document job-site safety and accident prevention
• Construction scheduling
• Procurement and expediting of materials and equipment
• Mechanical, electrical and piping systems coordination
• Shop drawing/submittal review and coordination
• Project cost review, reporting, updating and accounting
• Review of subcontractor applications for payment
• Participation in coordination meetings and documentation
• Supervision/coordination of subcontractors' field installations
• Change proposal pricing for subcontractors and self-performed work
• Change order documentation and cost reporting
• Research options on construction means, methods and equipment
• Maintenance of As-Built plans
• Quality control and project closeout
