Job summary

Hawaiian Dredging Construction Company is seeking a Project Engineer to support project administration and cost control across our Commercial Division. This role involves coordinating with Owners, Architects, subcontractors, and vendors to ensure timely, compliant project delivery.

You will assist with submittals, procurement, scheduling, and field coordination, while upholding safety, quality, and contract requirements in Hawaii’s dynamic construction environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or a related field.
• 0–3 years of experience in construction estimating, pre-construction, or a related field (level dependent).
• Preferred experience with concrete/precast or wood framing in residential and vertical construction projects.

Responsibilities

• Assist in managing the prime contract, subcontracts, purchase orders, and letters of intent.
• Prepare, track, and process submittals, RFIs, clarifications, permits, and procurement of permanent materials.
• Serve as a liaison between Owners, Architects, Consultants, Subcontractors, and Suppliers.
• Administer project documentation and communications.
• Price, prepare, and negotiate contract changes and change orders.
• Support cost control, forecasting, and progress reporting.
