Job summary

JCS is seeking an Engineering Project Manager to deliver complete, fully functional process systems and manage multiple projects across departments in Rochester, NY. You will drive planning, scheduling, and execution, keeping within budget while maintaining customer relationships.

The role requires a mechanical engineering degree, strong communication, proficiency in office software and scheduling tools, travel up to 20% across the U.S.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office packages.
• Familiarity with web-based scheduling tools.
• Ability to understand and interpret piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs) and functional descriptions.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Work well with a team, as well as be self-reliant and independent when necessary.
• Familiar with the elements of manufacturing system project management, including documentation, cost control, methodology, scheduling, and profitability.
• Able to travel (up to 20%) to customer sites throughout the U.S., with away-from-home stays of 1 day to 3 weeks.

Responsibilities

• Delivering complete, fully functional process systems to customers.
• Manage multiple projects concurrently, implement plans on schedule and within budget.
• Promote/maintain good business relationships with customers.
• Drive planning, organization, and execution across all operational functions.
• Develop project plans that deliver solutions on time and within budget.
• Ensure project scope, time and cost constraints are understood by all team members.
• Be the primary customer contact on projects.
• Establish clear communications, responsibility, and accountability internally and to the customer.
• Maintain positive cash flow throughout the project cycle.
• Identify and mitigate project risk and manage changes.
• Review project implementation and recommend changes.
• Define goals and objectives, develop plans, determine resources, assign tasks, define roles.
